St Michael's, Lowther, is a former parish church. It lies in the modern parish of Askham & Lowther, whose parish church is St Peter's, Askham.
In 2025, St Michael's was leased for 999 years to the Lowther Castle & Gardens Trust, to be managed and developed as a part of their heritage estate.
Please note that the church building is no longer licensed for weddings. It is no longer used for regular worship.
The churchyard remains subject to Faculty Jurisdiction. It is now full and coffin burials are only possible in existing family graves where a double-depth plot is available.
