Brainchild of The Revd Canon Gervase Markham, former Vicar of Morland, when he was Chairman of the Eden Millennium Festival, the Millennium Stone consists of 50 tonnes of Shap Granite.
St Cuthbert's is the historic parish church of the Parish of Clifton, site of the last battle to take place on English soil. By tradition it is one of the places at which the body of the Saint rested during its journey around the north of England.
