A church wedding is a beautiful start to married life. Declaring your love and commitment to each other, surrounded by your family and friends, whilst held in the love of God, is very special.
Couples from all over the area and further afield choose our churches. Our benefice contains three outstanding wedding venues. Links are provided below for your convenience, but please note that we have no connection with any of these businesses.
Information about every aspect of your church wedding can be found on the Church of England's life events site.
Weddings in our churches are arranged through our Mission Community Office Manager, Joyce Keetley. You can find Joyce's contact details below. Please get in touch with Joyce before contacting the clergy. There are legal rules which govern where you it is possible to get married and the necessary connection which a bride and groom must have with the church they have chosen. Joyce will be able to help you with this and much more.
Please note that weddings are ordinarily possible only in our open churches. It is not normally possible to conduct a wedding in St Ninian's or St Wilfrid's, Brougham.
Local wedding venues include:
Askham Hall, https://www.askhamhall.co.uk/
Holesfoot, https://holesfoot.co.uk/
Long Acre Barn, https://www.longacrebarn.co.uk/
Our pubs and village halls also provide facilities for weddings.
